[REVIEW] : COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL SET

Well, no introduction needed anymore for this brand. I bet all of you know this brand so well and its a super duper reliable brand and have various ranges! I wouldnt say this is my first time using this brand. Before the #TryMeReviewMe program, I have been using the product regularly such as the cleanser and acne patch. No doubt, its totally up to my liking especially the acne patch. So effective and easy to use.

I'm totally surprised that i have been selected for this review program. Arghhhhhh, I'm so excited and all of thee products sent over this time was totally new to me as I didnt test any of it before. Thanks Stylekorean for this opportunity!

This is probably the best set of skincare I ever received! Been wanting to try this for the longest time. Okay, long story short. Today I'll be revealing these 5 products that I received from Cosrx, stay tuned and continue reading.

I always love to talk and share a little bit more about my skin types and conditions before I proceed with the product sharing. Those who read my reviews previously, you guys should know I'm actually belongs to oily and acne prone skin since young, even until now. LOL. Recently I had a very bad skin due to travelling and PMS, skin started to be very dehydrate and acne pop out non stop like volcano! I hate it that I had acne prone skin. It's kind of hard to control at the same time. Still trying to get the best skin care for my skin.

My skin was way too sensitive and irritate easily whenever I tested a new skin care. Touchwood and I wanted to say that, from all the PR kit that I received from Stylekorean doesn't irritate me or cause me any breakout! Dont ask me why, because I dont know, too. LOL.
Although I belong to the oily skin type, but someday, my skin just turned out really dry and I can see its peeling. No matter how much of sheet mask I slammed on my face, it just didnt help at all.
So, let's get started on the review.

My reviews are based on my personal experiences, opinion and skin condition. I have tested for a good 8 days before I drop my review here in my blog. So yea, thats the reason why I late for posting my review.

I started off the skincare by using all together to share the best review with you guys.

[COSRX] Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 100ml

Snail mucin is is excretion from the snail. It’s also referred to as snail slime and often appear on ingredient labels as snail secretion filtration.It comes out of the snails when they’re stressed as a way to protect themselves. You might be wondering if the tiny snails are hurt during the process of extracting this ingredient. It’s worth noting though that CosRx is a cruelty-free brand. They say that their snail mucin products are 100% cruelty-free, causing no harm to the animals throughout the production process.

I know some of you might be gross when you its from a snail mucin, well guess what it has tonnes of benefits to our skin!

• Provides intense hydration and helps protect skin from moisture loss
• Improves and restores skin elasticity 
• Soothes skin after a breakout, helps improve damaged skin, and restores vitality
• Supplies important and abundant nourishment to our skin 

Well, basically from the outlook itself, nothing fancy about the bottle. A very basic and simple packaging from Cosrx as always. The essence also commonly available in a 100-ml plastic bottle with a built-in pump. In terms of texture, it has a very distinct texture — thick, sticky, slimy. And definitely unlike other essences I’ve tried. However, it’s very spreadable, ultra-lightweight and absorbs fast.

After tested for about a week, this essence is actually pretty lightweight upon application. It absorbs fast and has no greasy residue. My skin feels smooth and plump after application too. It just looks and feels healthier. And I also feel a soothing effect, especially if my face is feeling a little sensitive that day. This essence is an important part of my fight against adult acne. My skin is the healthiest it’s ever been and my breakouts have gotten few and far between. Well, I would highly recommend this product to those who face the same issues like me! Worth a 5 stars!

How to use:

1. I use this mucin power essence  right after toner, before serums
2. I pump a pea-sized amount of product on my finger tips and spread all over my face. And proceed with the next step of my skin care routine.

[COSRX] Aloe Soothing Sun Cream 50ml

I'm not a sunscreen kind of person. And of course I'm lazy! I hate the feeling of stickiness on my skin and eventually caused me a breakout. But since Cosrx sent this, I'm gonna hit a try! Yes, it is truly important to apply our sunscreen daily to prevent pigmentation and skin aging. 

Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is not just the normal sun cream. It not only completely blocks the UVA and UVB, but also moisturizes your dry skin. The combination of scientifically proven sun protection and natural ingredients and provide the skin protection layer. Aloe has been used as great ingredient for hydrating and moisturizing ever since 4,000 years ago. It was one of the favorite natural materials used by Cleopatra for beauty care. Aloe vera has strong anti-aging effect by creating the powerful moisture layer on the skin while offering the deep soothing effect. Aloe Soothing Sun Cream contains 5,500ppm of aloe vera leaf extract.

When your skin is exposed to the strong sun light, it can be easily dehydrated as the moisture evaporates from the skin surface. Aloe Soothing Sun Cream protects your skin while preventing any further dehydration.

The packaging is very minimal as usual and fragrance-free. Maybe it has a very very slightly refreshing scent. Almost undetected! Well, somehow I still this feel sunscreen it's more suitable for dry skin types since I have an oily skin, I still could feel a layer of oil layering on top of my skin, which I'm not really comfortable with. The texture of the sunscreen is thick creamy and when you apply on the skin, it has white residue. But after a few spreading, the white residue eventually gone and overall spread well on my skin. For the past 1 year after application, I dont really feel oily or sticky. Easy to apply to be honest. But few hours later, my skin start to feel oily. Probably it doesnt suit for my skin type. Overall, I would rate this product as 3 stars only. But highly recommended if you are dry skin type. It is reasonable and 50ml could last awhile which is quite reasonable in price too.

How to use:

1) Apply adequate amount at the last step of basic skin care or 30 minutes before going out on a sun.

2) Reapply every two hours for the perfect sun protection during the outdoor activity.

3) Cleanse off with the cleanser when removing the sun cream.

But I normally apply this in the morning and don't reapply, since I am not under the sun frequently every day.

[COSRX] Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream 25ml

I’m not particularly crazy about eye creams as I don’t particularly suffer from any under-eye concerns such as dark circles and wrinkles. Asides from the occasional puffiness when I don’t get my complete 7-8 hours of sleep. This eye cream is made up of snail secretion as well and obviously it helps to reduce wrinkle around my eyes area. The combination of 72% Snail Secretion Filtrate and Sodium Hyaluronate ensures that eye gets all the hydration it needs. With five types of Peptides, early signs of under-eye ageing can be treated. WooHoo~~

More than anything, the texture of eye creams are super important and i'm particular with it. It has to be as lightweight as it possibly can to avoid clogging the thin skin and pores around the eye area. This is why I was very impressed with the texture and consistency of the COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream. It has a fast-absorbing lightweight texture with a creamy consistency.  It immediately just sinks into my eye area and disappears. It is not thick or sticky at all. Plus, I just need one need a pea size for each eye. When it comes to scent, it doesnt really has any strong scent though.

It comes with 25ml airless pump bottle which ensures that dispense just a pea-sized amount every time we use it. Well, that size is sure to last for months which is why the packing is simply brilliant. The product is well preserved and not exposed to the elements. I love my skin care in airless pump which means I dont need to dig it with my own finger, it gross!

After using for about a week, i dont really see any obvious results as of now. Probably I'll share more about it again after using it for about a month. I'll keep this blog updated! Overall, I feel it is a a good eyecream because it doesnt irritate my skin or sting my eyes area. It doesnt clogged up my skin as well. And most important not sticky, which is totally my liking. I would recommend this product as 5 stars!

How to use:

Take an appropriate amount and apply gently to the skin around your eyes, pat gently and let it absorb.

[COSRX] AHA/BHA 7 Clarifying Treatment Toner 150ml

I'm gonna rave about this product! This is one of the toner that I have tested before Stylekorean send over! And I'm in love. It my skin saviour for my acne prone skin! This product is free from alcohol, parabens, artificial colorants, artificial fragrance, triethanolamine, and phthalates. The ingredients list is very short, there are only 12 ingredients in this clarifying treatment toner. Glycolic acid (AHA) and Betaine Salicylate (BHA) are the key exfoliants in this toner while allantoin and panthenol act as soothing and moisturising ingredients. It also has astringent property that comes from the willow bark water and apple water also acts as natural AHA. If you do read about it, AHA/BHA are two key ingredients that are good for acne skin and its a must to have it. I cant live without it! 

This comes in 150ml spray bottle with a nozzle so it is like a toner mist kind of product. But I dont really love my toner in a spray bottle. So I actually pour it to another bottle so that I can pour it directly to my cotton pad. This toner has a very watery and runny texture. Feels lightweight, no tingling or stinging sensation whatsoever. Does not feel sticky or tacky. clear transparent liquid. Well, it does has some mild scent. But totally acceptable for me since it contains some acids in it. As usual, the packaging of Cosrx are pretty simple and minimal. No fancy colour and it basically just transparent bottle with instructions. 

This toner does make a difference on my skin. My pores got smaller and sebum level seems to be controlled. And thanks Cosrx, I'm on my second bottle now. Although it doesnt make my skin feel smoother or so, but still it helps on oil control which is totally one of my concerns! Personally feel that this bottle is worth to repurchase if you are looking for a toner for acne prone skin. With the size of 150ml, I think it could lasts me for about 4 to 5 months if I use twice a day. And I would say that the price is reasonable too. I would rate this as 5 stars product as well. 

How to use:

1. use in skin/toner stage after facial wash every morning/evening.

2. Amply wet a cotton pad and blot the skin along the skin texture inside out as if gently massaging.

[COSRX] Advanced Snail Mucin Power Gel Cleanser 50ml

COSRX Snail Mucin Cleanser is a gentle gel cleanser that delivers a deep and thorough clean. It’s also packed with 10,000ppm of snail secretion filtrate for renewed, hydrated, youthful skin. As you most likely already know, snail mucin is a great ingredient. It is formulated with snail mucin and 10,000ppm of snail secretion filtrate to hydrate and regenerate skin, this cleanser effectively removes impurities and creates a smoother complexion. The hypoallergenic, ultra-gentle gel formula also protects the skin barrier. Suitable for those with sensitive skin prone to irritation or redness.

I really love the simple packaging that COSRX uses for its products. Because it is not the most important thing, but the product itself is. The box exists out of white cardboard, with on the right side a black/yellow box that tells you the name of the product and what it is supposed to do. For the tube, they used the same design. This cleanser has a florish scent, but its mild one. I got this in a smaller tube which is the 50ml, but I think its good enough for travel size. The texture is semi thick gel. It lathers up easily and gives a lot of lather, so a little goes a long way. I don’t need a big amount of this cleanser to give my skin a good cleanse.

To conclude I really enjoy using this cleanser. Recently I discovered that gel-type cleansers doesnt work for my skin than any other type of cleanser. Afterward, my skin felt fresh and moisturized. My skin did not felt tight or dry afterward, so I think this cleanser is good for people with a combination or oily skin type. It does remove some of the impurities, like getting rid of oils and dead skin cells.

How to use:

• Wet your face and lather a pea sized amount of cleanser between your palms.
• Massage the foam into your skin from forehead down to jaw.
• Rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water.
